From Podcast to Portable Device Using Doppler and Windows Media Player

Introduction

Podcasts have revolutionized the way audio and even video is used and distributed across the web. Podcasts derive their name and are similar in some respects to broadcast mediums such as radio and television, but unlike radio and television, podcasts are on-demand broadcasts, received and listened to when the user chooses and available anytime from virtually anywhere. Yet, the technology is still relatively new and not everyone knows how to tap this powerful resource. This tutorial is designed to sling-shot you into the world of podcasting, so you can get up and running with, hopefully, a minimal amount of difficulty and frustration.

In this tutorial, we will be looking at two programs, Dopper and Windows Media Player, and learning how we can combine these two programs to make use of the podcast's greatest feature, portability. First, we will walk through the installation of Doppler and how to add a podcast feed to Doppler. Then, we will use Windows Media Player to sync our podcast with any PlaysForSure compatible portable media device. So, let's get started by installing Doppler.
