New Life Church’s webmail has been launched for over a week now, but in one sense, it never really was launched. How exactly to go about getting an email address was only mentioned in passing, and there were still logistic issues involved in that.

However, now, we have instituted a completely automated system. Simply click the “Webmail” link in the navigation of our site, and you have a handy login box waiting for you. Don’t have an account with us yet? Follow the “Get started now” link on the same page and you’ll be able to set up your email account online. The process is very simple, and should only require a minute of your time.

Nonetheless, there is one caveat. New Life Church’s webmail is currently limited to only those who attend our church. It is unknown as of yet whether we will begin to offer this service to the world at large, but currently it is not even possible. We chose to bring the quality and sophistication of Google’s Gmail webmail system to our own webmail, through their currently beta “Gmail for your domain” program. Since it is beta, we have a limited set of email addresses to give out, though there’s plenty for all our members.

So, in order to offer an easy online setup and limit it to just our members, the signup has been setup to recognize who is and who isn’t a member of our church. This means that as new people arrive in our congregation, this service may not be instantly available to them, and if anyone who does attend New Life Church has any problems with the signup, it’s likely because we do not have information on you. If that is the case, simply contact Pastor Gary or myself (Chris Pratt) and one of us will fix you up.

One more stipulation, and then I’m done. We have also limited the webmail currently to only adults (18 and over). There may potentially come a time when we will offer email address for our kids as well, but there’s still some legal issues to be worked out on that front.

Anyways, I hope you all will enjoy this new service, and as always, if you have any problems, let me know.
