New Home for New Life

Haven’t posted in a while, since I’ve been busy, busy. Just as I rolled out the last version of the site, it became increasingly clear that we’d pretty much pushed the limit of what our web host offered us. This meant it was high time to move on to greener pastures.

I spent a while searching for a good host to switch to. It’s harder than one would think to achieve that goal, and I remember telling my pastor that it was a little like spelunking for gold. Well, praise God, we struck it rich. With the package we have with our new host, we are now able to expand our little (actually it’s getting kind of big now) site here.

So, after switching, I began the process of moving the site over. However, our new capabilities combined with my perfectionism and gave birth to one monster of a overhaul. The funny thing (or not) is that you, the user, will likely not notice much difference, since the changes were mostly on the backend. Now, I’m sleep-deprived and dreaming of code when I do sleep, but it’s just about done. I was polishing off the changes to the blogs, so I figured I might as well make a post.

The most exciting thing about all this, is that we will soon be offering free hosting accounts and email address to anyone who wants it. The only condition is that you have to put a little more Jesus online. That doesn’t mean it has to be a purely religious web site. It can be on any subject you like (family-friendly, though). The details are still being etched out, but look out for this to be hitting the presses sometime in the next week (God willing).
