Priorities
We live in a hustle and bustle world in which time seems to be a precious commodity in short supply. The supply of time is not decreasing; rather the demands for our time are increasing. Thus, the word for this week is priority. The only way we can survive in this fast-paced, time-consuming environment is to establish priorities. This will enable you to sort out the most important from the least important. This begs the question; what are your top priorities?
Many have put the proverbial cart before the horse when it comes to setting priorities. Family, careers, education, relationships, and leisure become priorities clamoring for your time and energy. Such noble pursuits are important and certainly deserve attention. However, these pursuits in a correct priority become life giving rather than life draining. Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). Jesus teaching was very simple in this regard; set God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness first in your life and God will enable you to make the most of the other areas in your life.
Give God the first place in your life. Give God the first minutes of your day. Give God the first fruits of your labor. Give God the first of your best and see what God can do with the rest.
Have a great week!
