He’s Coming!

< Back to Pastor Gary’s Blog

If you knew for certain that you only had 24 hours left before you met the Lord face to face, how would your life be different? Would you have areas of your life that you would need to “clean up?” Would you suddenly find the need to spend some quality time in prayer? Perhaps you would find it necessary to read the Bible or maybe you would make certain you were attending church? If you knew you only had 24 hours left before you met the Lord, how would your life be different?

The truth is you may not have 24 hours! Paul wrote, “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with tem in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever” (1 Thess. 4:16-17). Furthermore, Paul informs us that this event will take place “…in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye” (1 Corinthians 15:52). This could be the very day that you meet Jesus face to face. This is the blessed hope of every believer.

The Bible teaches us that knowing that we could see Jesus at any moment actually affects our lives. 1 John 3:3 says, “Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” Therefore, since you know that you could actually see Jesus at any moment, live your life in such a way as to please the Lord. Keep your heart pure, pray without ceasing, hide God’s Word in your heart, and be faithful to God’s house. Why? Jesus is coming, it could be today! Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!

God bless you,
Pastor Gary
