Middle East Leadership Training Center, Amman, Jordan August 2006
Invited to teach a seminar incorporating the components of learning organization theory to a group of students and leaders in Amman, Jordan. The seminar challenged students and leaders to begin implementing new organizational skills in order to create more proficient organizational performance outcomes.
Calvary Assembly of God, Bloomington, Illinois
Senior Pastor (1994 – 1996)
Challenged to lead the revival of a 75–member church plagued with excessive debt due to a large land purchase.
Assumed full leadership responsibility for membership development, staff and volunteer recruitment, program development, budgeting, adult and youth education, community and member relations.
Drove membership from 75 to 175 within two years. Significantly reduced debt by packaging and selling off extra acreage not utilized by the church.
Grace Assembly of God, Shelbyville, Kentucky
Senior Pastor (1992 – 1994)
Reassigned to Kentucky to lead the turnaround of a 115–member church that was fiscally unstable.
Assumed P&L and leadership responsibility for new member development, community relations, program development, budgeting, staffing and volunteer recruitment, and facilities management.
Reengineered the entire operational infrastructure, and established and implemented a strict budget.
Restored the church's reputation and credibility within the community.
Recruited and trained new staff, and introduced new programs.
Recommended an extensive interior renovation plan.
Drove membership from 115 to 150 and restored its fiscal stability within six months.
Abundant Life Assembly of God, Mt Vernon, Illinois
Senior Pastor (1988 – 1992)
Assigned to this 12–member congregation to build a presence within the community and to increase membership.
Assumed fiscal responsibility for the planning, development, staffing and leadership of the church.
Planned and facilitated adult education classes.
Developed numerous ministries within the church and successfully recruited a large volunteer network.
Provided vision and direction in the development of a new church. Secured funding and volunteer commitment. Negotiated and purchased 1.5 acres. Erected a new building within 90 days.
Drove congregation membership from 12 to 150 within two years.
Central Bible College, Springfield, Missouri
Educator/Instructor (1985 – 1988)
Recruited as a member of the faculty to teach a wide range of college level courses for this Assemblies of God School with 1,500 students.
Developed course curriculum, chose textbooks and method of instruction, and functioned as a faculty advisor to students.
Facilitated course instruction in English Composition, Speech Communications, First and Second Year Greek, Old and New Testament History and Literature, Pentateuch, Minor Prophets, Synoptic Gospels, Epistles of John, Corinthians I & II, Pastoral Epistles and General Epistles.
Served on numerous faculty committees and functioned as Tour Manager for "Spirit Wind", a college singing group performing in the Midwest and Southern United States.
Entrepreneural Experience
Thee Amish Shoppe, Humble, Texas
General Manager (1996 – 2004)
Established and built a specialty furniture and craft store from inception.
Full P&L and management responsibility for new business development, purchasing and vendor negotiations, staffing and training, sales, marketing, accounting and financial reporting.
Drove business from a zero base to $675,000 annually, and opened stores in both Sugar Land and Humble, Texas.
